NOT a "trick" question! A VERY GOOD (though STUPID) question! How can you NOT be "oppressed" by the "state"? By their VERY NATURE "states" are "oppressive"! And the sooner everybody realizes that, the better. If we (YES! I MEAN "YOU", TOO!) don't keep an eye on the "state", then the state is SURELY going to start making ALL our "decisions" for us! At which point, THERE IS NO "freedom"!

I see society as completely rudderless with a panoply of nonsense beliefs and the state as nervous policeman surveying a scene of mere infants who might open up a machine gun on a crowd, believe Jews control the world or that crystal skulls have great healing powers, or drink bleach without a warning on the label... etc. The list is endless.
Thank you for your intelligent contributions ...enjoyed reading them
l see that a politically-correct religious nutjob has struck again & had a 2nd thread of mine deleted ...adult censorship is alive & well on CS ...he said he was praying for my soul, but l haven't noticed any tingling yet, anywhere

deviant_slice: I've frequently been in a state. Does that count?
No, but licensing with its accompanying government regulation & multitude of "acts" most definitely does count as state oppression.
lt's a shame that most people don't realise that a license negates their civil rights, thus entitling state officials & fascist police to drag members of the public though the criminal courts, prosecuting, convicting people for all sorts of pointless, bean-counting "criminal offences"
Many occupations would be better off ignoring requirements to be licensed ...then they would retain their civil rights as members of the public & the onus would be on the state to prove they had actually committed any actual real criminal offences
pat8lanips: Nah, I wear an aluminium spaghetti strainer on my head so the machine cant read my thought patterns.
I got me a solar powered arab style head-dress ... it keeps out all the Big Brothery attempts at brainwashing / mind reading, keeps the cellphone fully topped up and, if there's surplus power at the end of a sunny day it plugs into an inverter and runs the microwave and / or washing machine !

Kattte: Ahhh, I find 'the state' rather depressive and retentive and I would assume that 'the state' finds a similar state of depression by the low grade morons that world over, they keep voting in the same depressive, repressive and an*l type politicians year in and year out without ever doing anything to end the never ending cycle of 'more of the same' ; lie, cheat, steal, get elected, get oppressive and then become depressed by having to deal with cattle and sheep all the time. It's a wonder why any criminal would want to be a politician.
It's a never ending carousel Perhaps an overdose of suppositories would end it all.

I agree, BUT . . . THEN, we'd ALL have to be carrying a gun around, ALL the time, just for SELF protection! And THAT remedy would be AL:MOST as bad as the disease!
stephenbadger: Weeeel okay, as the situation stands, it's a jungle out there dealing with unlicensed traders, etc ...But there isn't a single licensed Second-hand Dealer, Used Whiteware Dealer, Used TV Dealer & Antique Dealer on this planet that doesn't bitterly regret the rush of blood to the head, that motivated them to apply for a f*ck license

Going by some of the posts on CS, state control of minds may not be such a bad thing

stephenbadger: Have you been oppressed by the state ??
Well, I could say that I have been oppressed by a pair of tight jeans around the Holidays dinner schedules but this year it seems I lost a whole pant size so I don;t think it will be the case this year.
