An 'open mind' in this context is the willingness to seek / hear / see information from a variety of sources without prejudice ...
In recent years this has become referred to as 'triangulation of information' and it's done by few people ... they have a Fav News Source and they simply take the OPINION of the FNS as gospel ?
But with syndication of news and the number of so called 'opinion articles' we often see people writing 'opinion pieces' that are actually only 'opinions on the opinions of others' ootooos and these ootooos are themselves ootooos on other other unknown person's ootooos ... which are ... and it can be so long a chain that little is written by anyone who actually has any real knowledge ..
For example ... imagine believing some of the crack pots on here and forming / voicing YOUR ootooo on THEIR ootoo which is 20 times oottooo (0r more removed from actuality )

With a validation comes secure knowing of what?
Can we just not try to live within what we see as good.
Then give and understand, that no matter even if we have less, give.
We as one must be happy within our life.
If we have more give.
It is not a life of narrow minded people, its a life to swerve that and understand the world breathes such a silent dying.
That the world as one pulsates to the drum of the rich.
Some try, yet if many more understood, things may take a change.
Look close to home.
That's a start.
