I have been wondering where and how this will all end. Will we become more or less immune to it and just have a list of offenders each week between the sport and the weather, will somebody blow their brains out on live TV and then be found to be completely innocent, or does it continue as it has been going for ever more?

The woman who is responsible if Roger Ailes fall says, the floodgate is open and it is bad.
I think there's no one to be left standing. Very sad.
rizlared: What you say is very true, but at the same time, the idea of 15 minutes of fame also has some bearing on these reports, people saying something to get themselves in the spotlight, but later on it is found to be untrue.
In the meantime an innocent person has had their life destroyed.
There is always a collateral damage. But entoto, there is more truth on the accusations than not. I believe, it is about time that all these crimes will be exposed and get to be resolved. If there is one person that is accused and not true, imagine those thousands that will be proven to be true.
Either way, it is something that we can't stop anymore. Carlson, the Minnesotan who started it all who is responsible of the downfall of Roger Ailes from Fox said and quote: "My case open the floodgates of these crimes to be exposed.:
Read her book, Be fierce. Stop Harassment, Fight Back and Take your Power Back.
My question to you is, wouldn't you believe the case when there are more than one person who accuse the same perpetrator? Let alone hundreds of them? At least in the case of Weinstein.
So for me, yes, you are right, there will always be someone who takes advantage of the situation for her own interest whether it is true or not, but this whole thing is good for everyone.
Like I wrote, who is next? I am waiting for the biggies like Lucas, Spielberg, Scorcese, Coppola etc. etc.
Imagine the case of Roman Polanski...come to think of it, that was decades ago.
I'm thinking, when we get to the bottom of this imbroglio, there will be no one male left in politics or the entertainment industry. I think.
So who is next?
Ailes, O'Reilly, Franken, Cosby, Stallone, Affleck, Spacey, they're down, next? Weinstein, Harvey and his brother Bob...way down.
I get somewhat of a kick out of all the righteous men on this post. I admitt that I did cross this line, but only once, and I have truly been ashamed of that act for the last 30 years.

Let us just say, it is all part of social evolution and that it is bound to happen.
In your case, I am happy you realize how wrong it is and still carry the sting of your mistake.

It would have been good if all of these perpetrators felt as you do and don't do it again, but a repeated act after act is just evil. Imagine the stories coming out of these women who had to go through these malicious, vicious criminal acts.
Today I just heard the story of the accuser of Conyers and it makes me cringe to my stomach. The detailed information how it started is just sickening.

In the meantime an innocent person has had their life destroyed.
lindsyjones: I tell you Look, this is one side of the equation of life. The inescapable existence of good and evil in every man is very true as Solsenitshin said: "The battleline between good and evil runs in every heart of man" And Scott Alexander said the same thing or something like that.
It is not easy to do good and much much easier to do bad. We are doomed if you ask me, but there are people with good heart and I personally believe the good will eventually win.
But yes, there are wicked and ultra bad people and I wish it isn't so.
Let us spread the good part more often, practice more often and then perhaps our sick world will be cured.
lindsyjones: Of course their are good people but the bad that happens is sensationalized...while a lot of the good is gone unnoticed. It is every good persons dream to put a big dent in bad, but bad has always been and will always be...sadly. I wrote a poem called 'impossibilities'...the sick world being 'cured' is included, again sadly! I wasn't born pessimistic...it was forced on me.
