nausicaa98: Pate is usually the minced liver of a goose that has been confined for most of its life and force fed grain till its liver becomes swollen and solid. For its entire adult life, it never experiences happiness and only knows pain.

It is disgusting and should be banned. It isn't a delicacy, it's torturous and vile

That applies to most animals, fit for human consumption, whether it be battery chickens, or other farm animals forced to like outside their natural habitat.

The sheep generally look pretty healthy round here, but the state I've seen dairy cattle in has been known to reduce me to cringing nausea.

It's not a pate recipe, it sounds more like a terrine.

Not really!
The difference being, pate is made with liver , where as a terrine is made with chunkier cuts of meat.

I learnt that while working at McDonald's!professor laugh

I don't buy meat, or at least eat it.

Living on a farm the cows were for, just cows being what they wanted to be,happy cows.
Milk and cheese.

Then one day the homekill guy came.

Unbeknownst to me 2x were to be shot.

I had no say in the matter.
I clasped my ears and I took my hands away, that's when I heard it!

The bull my brutus went crazy.

Part of his herd gone.

Then so was I.

Could not bear being asked how I wanted to have them bagged up.
Never again.

I moved away to a smaller farm, just me.
I left alot, but felt that way of life was so cruel.

I understand many need a one off kill for animals.
To feed a family, but just could not deal with it myself.

Sorry not a farmers lady

We will have to agree to differ.

I would have eaten Pate in the past

But the thought of eating (offal)
the entrails, and inner organs,of a butchered animal , now

is sickening barf

What's more sickening about eating the innards of a butchered animal for you, than the outers, for you Anna?
