What does everyone think about astrology? Astrologers say that people in the same element get on best - so an Air sign like Gemini would get on best with other Air signs like Aquarius and Libra? I'm an Aries and once dated a Libra - Libra and Aries are opposites in astrology and we were definitely opposites - it didn't last. One of my best experiences was with a Sagittarius, and that is in the Fire element like my sign. My best friend is a Leo - also a Fire sign!

At best Astrology is a pseudoscience. to give you an idea of just how little science is employed in astrology today; about one half of everyone out there that thinks they know what sign they were born under are incorrect which means that even IF the attributes ascribed to each sign were accurate, then nearly 50% of you are still in error.

Our calendar is a full week off. Christmas is actually New Years day; you could say that the solstice is New Years day, or the three days following where there is no detectable movement along the horizon of the sun rise. Any of these days would be more appropriate than a week later for New Years. The summer solstice, and equinoxes should be at the end of the month not 3/4 the way through.

Besides this, perhaps deliberate, error of a week; there is constant drift from several factors including the earths wobble. When was the last time corrections of our calendar were made and corrections of Astrology???

BTW all major religions came from Astronomy originally, which over time became distorted into astrotheology, which became further distorted into Astrology and Religion.

In a week beginning on the Winter solstice, the Sun will be "dead in a cave" or rather not have detectable movement at the sun rise position on the Horus(rising). Then on the day we call December 25th, the "three kings" or rather the stars of Orion's belt, will "follow" or rather align with, the "star of Bethlehem" the "star to the east", or Sirius and "show the way" or align and point to, where the birth of the "savior" or rather the first sunrise of the New Year takes place.
Virgo will rise up above the new years sun rise as if giving birth to it...the virgin birth. The crux constellation is visible at the solstice when the sun "dies". Hence the sun dying on the cross. This could also be a reference to the sun dying on the cross of the zodiac, which is a calendar. Simple what?

I have to admit after i read a profile , if i like it ,i look at their astrological sign, if it does not work with mine i will not message them. I only chat to one person at a time anyway, once they quit talking to me then i have to go through the pain process to find another to chat with.

I think there is enough information centered around birth dates and time frames to build a profile of certain traits and behaviors.

Those astrological signs are just that, a type of profiling. Not all people actually fit the profile their alleged birth sign may indicate. If there are failures, it may be better to examine the traits and behaviors and then make changes with in yourself, accordingly.

There is also the Chinese zodiac and I've heard of a Hindu system. I'm certain there are other systems, I just try not to put too much stock into "Astrological dating".

Time frames are also subject to change based on certain years and other factors with the planets "rotation".

I've seen opposites and similar thrive to the end. I'll admit that similar traits and behaviors, might seem to last more often.

I think about astrotheology often.

Not the crap they try to pass off as astrotheology in Zeitgiest Part 1.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Vedic astrology accounts for the precession of the equinoxes, and most of us in that system will have as our star sign the previous sign to our Western one: I'm Aries in the West, but Pisces in the East...Factoring in the precession however doesn't really change whether I am the same element as someone or not, so the Sagittarius person I got on well with would be a Scorpio under the precession - making them a Water element, and as I'm Pisces in that system - I am also in the Water element.

Hi Cally wave

Gemini here wine

' Expressive and quick-witted, Gemini represents two different personalities in one and you will never be sure which one you will face. They are sociable, communicative and ready for fun, with a tendency to suddenly get serious, thoughtful and restless.'

We are also artistic and have a thirst for knowledge and travel as we love to broaden our minds conversing

I've encountered mostly Scorpio men in my life, they're poison to me, my perfect match would most likely be a Gemini male wine

I try to believe in it, really I do. I'm fully aware that Atheism leaves girls stone cold, but logic and reason get the better of me and I struggle for the power of pretending to believe. Unless I'm drunk.

You are actually quite right!! Am very glad to meet another person who knows about the astrology and origins of religion and talks free about it.. I was interested in stars and astrology since I remember myself.. and was looking into different horoscopes since my teens .. and.ended up with two relationships that according to all horoscopes were a definite no-no but lasted 11 and 15 years.. so to all people who look at the horoscope signs - please don't take them too seriouspeace

My knowledge about astrology is very limited, but the astrologists generally think that someone's natal chart is much more important than just a Sun sign. If you want to get some general knowledge about someone, you should look at their Sun sign, Ascendant and Moon sign, although other planets, houses, aspects, etc. can dramatically affect their personality, as well.

I've never relied too much on astrology (I'm Aquarius, Scorpio Ascendant and Capricorn Moon), but I noticed some very interesting coincidences in my life. I often attract fire signs, but Aries - although interesting and fun to be with - isn't a good match for me in a long run. Then, I also rather often attract Taurus and sometimes Capricorn. Other men usually appear in my life as friends only. Even here - whenever I get a message and look at someone's sign - 2/3 of men are either Aries or Taurus! Then - some Leo, Sagittarius, Capricorn - rarely anyone else.

I rarely met Scorpio men in my life, even as friends, but two I met were unforgettable! They had such an extraordinary effect on me (and me on them) that I even searched about Aquarius-Scorpio combination online and found some very interesting experiences from people in that romantic combination, that were very similar to mine. Unfortunately, relationships with those two Scorpios couldn't develop due to some other things (distance, etc.), but I think that I would really like to meet a Scorpio man (similar to those previous two - intelligent and intense) one more time. :)

Aquarius is 'everyone's friend', so - in friendships - I can get along with anyone. :)

Maybe the easiest way to 'think about' astrology is to look at a game of pool ... that game is played with an understand of the nature of forces, vectors and 'subtle changes' in energy.

Each person also contains and is surrounded by their own energy field and it's these that will be in harmony (or not) for short or long periods of time.

As to the impact of the planets ... if you can see that moon affect tides then it's apparent that it (and other bodies) also capable of having 'subtle energetic' effects.

Not EVERYTHING on this planet is related to the GROSS energies !

cheers
