annaroach: Same here Serena,, i am also a Gemini, and had a 2 year relationship
with an Aries man, charming , thoughtful, generous, very witty , and knowledgeable.
i have never laughted in my life as much as i did with him, fire in his belly too.

I also get on well with the Aquarius male.

Hmm I see cool laugh

Aquarians and Librans are apparently good for me also but my Gemini sees me playing with fire and getting burnt on a regular basis laugh

I know nothing about astrology, and don't personally follow it.

I now my own star sign, but couldn't for the life of me tell you the star signs of anybody else, except for one ex who was a Leo and like to explain away all of his behaviour on that laugh

mechanicalcat:

In a week beginning on the Winter solstice, the Sun will be "dead in a cave" or rather not have detectable movement at the sun rise position on the Horus(rising). Then on the day we call December 25th, the "three kings" or rather the stars of Orion's belt, will "follow" or rather align with, the "star of Bethlehem" the "star to the east", or Sirius and "show the way" or align and point to, where the birth of the "savior" or rather the first sunrise of the New Year takes place.
Virgo will rise up above the new years sun rise as if giving birth to it...the virgin birth. The crux constellation is visible at the solstice when the sun "dies". Hence the sun dying on the cross. This could also be a reference to the sun dying on the cross of the zodiac, which is a calendar. Simple what?

Will you please tell us where we can see the phenomena you've described?

marlindap: I have to admit after i read a profile , if i like it ,i look at their astrological sign, if it does not work with mine i will not message them. I only chat to one person at a time anyway, once they quit talking to me then i have to go through the pain process to find another to chat with.

3 things that I never post online...

My mother's maiden name, the name of my first pet, and which month I was born in.

Maya74: My knowledge about astrology is very limited, but the astrologists generally think that someone's natal chart is much more important than just a Sun sign. If you want to get some general knowledge about someone, you should look at their Sun sign, Ascendant and Moon sign, although other planets, houses, aspects, etc. can dramatically affect their personality, as well.

I've never relied too much on astrology (I'm Aquarius, Scorpio Ascendant and Capricorn Moon), but I noticed some very interesting coincidences in my life. I often attract fire signs, but Aries - although interesting and fun to be with - isn't a good match for me in a long run. Then, I also rather often attract Taurus and sometimes Capricorn. Other men usually appear in my life as friends only. Even here - whenever I get a message and look at someone's sign - 2/3 of men are either Aries or Taurus! Then - some Leo, Sagittarius, Capricorn - rarely anyone else.

I rarely met Scorpio men in my life, even as friends, but two I met were unforgettable! They had such an extraordinary effect on me (and me on them) that I even searched about Aquarius-Scorpio combination online and found some very interesting experiences from people in that romantic combination, that were very similar to mine. Unfortunately, relationships with those two Scorpios couldn't develop due to some other things (distance, etc.), but I think that I would really like to meet a Scorpio man (similar to those previous two - intelligent and intense) one more time. :)

Aquarius is 'everyone's friend', so - in friendships - I can get along with anyone. :)

Hey Maya,

The Scorpio-Aquarius connection you mention is something I can vouch for.
One of my male friends - a Scorpio, met an Aquarius woman (who
is a lesbian) many years ago. They are still friends and I think their bond
is one of the strongest I have ever seen. I realise basing things on sun sign alone
is not good astrology, but sometimes certain patterns emerge even with
that one aspect of it. Aquarius-Scorpio is certainly an interesting combination.

HexagonKeySet: Maybe the easiest way to 'think about' astrology is to look at a game of pool ... that game is played with an understand of the nature of forces, vectors and 'subtle changes' in energy.

Each person also contains and is surrounded by their own energy field and it's these that will be in harmony (or not) for short or long periods of time.

As to the impact of the planets ... if you can see that moon affect tides then it's apparent that it (and other bodies) also capable of having 'subtle energetic' effects.

Not EVERYTHING on this planet is related to the GROSS energies !

I think the whole area of 'subtle energies' is really interesting.
I am sure science one day will understand these energies better
and harness them for medical purposes etc

I think so, too. :)

When I met those two Scorpio men I was thinking all the time: 'How can someone be so similar to me, yet so different at the same time?'. :)

It was such an amazing connection. :) I hope I find it once again. :)

Did anyone consider if you go just a fraction away from earth's point of reference the stars and planets look nothing like the patterns prescribed for "star signs"? Just another man made pillow so we might sleep a little more comfortably on the story of life.

Wake up sleepy heads.

Someone I went to college with always asked for a potential date's star sign -
it was actually the first thing she wanted to know about them.
She felt it was risky dating me because our signs are opposites -
Libra and Aries. Whether it was a self-fulfilling prophesy or not
I don't know - but it didn't work out between us. Maybe it was the stars' fault!

An Aquarius or Gemini would probably be the best match for you
but as everyone says - just going by sun sign alone is not very good astrology.
If you can find out what your Descendant sign is then that is probably
the best match for you! My Descendant is in Sagittarius and my best
relationship has been with a Sagittarian!!! (I didn't know anything
about this stuff when we were together, so it wasn't a mere self-fulfilling
prophesy!)

I always thought that astrology was a fraud and don't even know the star signs of my own kids or any other family members. Towards the end of the year the local radio station occasionally interviews an astrologer who makes predictions for the coming year. None of the predictions ever turn up.

In 2003 The Telegraph (UK) published an article on the failure of astrology which included the following paragraphs.

For several decades, researchers tracked more than 2,000 people - most of them born within minutes of each other. According to astrology, the subject should have had very similar traits.

The babies were originally recruited as part of a medical study begun in London in 1958 into how the circumstances of birth can affect future health. More than 2,000 babies born in early March that year were registered and their development monitored at regular intervals.

Researchers looked at more than 100 different characteristics, including occupation, anxiety levels, marital status, aggressiveness, sociability, IQ levels and ability in art, sport, mathematics and reading - all of which astrologers claim can be gauged from birth charts.

The scientists failed to find any evidence of similarities between the "time twins", however. They reported in the current issue of the Journal of Consciousness Studies: "The test conditions could hardly have been more conducive to success . . . but the results are uniformly negative."

Analysis of the research was carried out by Geoffrey Dean, a scientist and former astrologer based in Perth, Australia, and Ivan Kelly, a psychologist at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Dr Dean said the results undermined the claims of astrologers, who typically work with birth data far less precise than that used in the study. "They sometimes argue that times of birth just a minute apart can make all the difference by altering what they call the 'house cusps'," he said. "But in their work, they are happy to take whatever time they can get from a client."

Hi Ivoryguy...

Tbh I think any astrologer who takes ''any time they get from a client'' to determine the ascendant and house positions is not really an astrologer. They are something else! But I am not trying to defend astrology - I have happened to read some personality profiles etc by astrologers and some of them are quite insightful - regardless of whether they 'fit' someone or not, they can still be pretty good at reading human nature. Apparently Vedic astrology is best for accurate predictions. I have never paid for a reading though and I don't plan to. There is a bit of a neurosis wanting to find out what tomorrow holds I think, and even if astrology was a sure thing, maybe we're better off not knowing.

cally77: What does everyone think about astrology? Astrologers say that people in the same element get on best - so an Air sign like Gemini would get on best with other Air signs like Aquarius and Libra? I'm an Aries and once dated a Libra - Libra and Aries are opposites in astrology and we were definitely opposites - it didn't last. One of my best experiences was with a Sagittarius, and that is in the Fire element like my sign. My best friend is a Leo - also a Fire sign!

Which signs are love compatible for my cancer self .... I plopped out 12:12:12 am on my birthday. I have ten fingers and one foot with six toes, the other has four. dunno
