"Truth" is in the mind of the "believer".
I just finished watching your link, Lindsey. It was somewhat surprising, yes. But curious. I'm happy that such things are being said, BY Arabs, TO Arabs.
But I don't think it was particularly well researched. As well as being "slanted". And I'm curious about the who and why BEHIND the broadcast. And, was THIS newscaster/speaker, like most western newscasters, these days, "coached"? Or was he "ad libbing" his comments?
My FIRST impression is that he doesn't even know, or hasn't analysed his own (Arabic) history. If it WEREN'T for the Arabs/Muslims, the western Renaissance might never have happened. As an example, the math that we use, today. The base 10 positional notation that is uniformly used throughout the world, today, in known, in the west as "Arabic Numerals". The fact that it WASN'T an Arab that discovered/invented this system, is irrelevant. It was introduced to Europe, by Muslim scholars.
The one thing to APPRECIATE about the video was that, IF it gets much air, in the west, it MIGHT open some CLOSED western eyes to the fact that there are good people, as well as bad people, in ALL groups of people! Discerning, rational people, even amongst "The Enemy"! And that such people need and deserve our support.
Peace is NOT "imposable"! And, sometimes, war is UNAVOIDABLE. This has been our "history", for ALL of recorded history. And THAT needs to change! But it will NEVER change, unless and until the GOOD people, of ALL groups, band together! Work together.
God is God. You can call Him ANYTHING you want to. But the name you call Him ISN'T going to change Him. One of the MAJOR problems in/of the world, today, is that people have let OTHER people stand between them, and God. We DON'T need Priests, or Rabbis, or Imans, or Bishops. God WILL speak to you directly! We need only quiet ourselves, enough to hear, and then, LISTEN for his voice.
