One2note: Could you handle the fast pace of city life, or are you a country person, who takes things in their stride?

One2note: Likewise, but which one would you choose, assuming money wasn't an issue?
A nice house in some peaceful and quiet area where I could stay whenever I want. And when I want something different - travel to more noisy places and less noisy places all over the world, depending on the mood. That would be perfect.
I grew up in a small dairy farm town 75 miles north of NYC. It also was a whistle stop for the train to Grand Central Station which took 2 trains and a little over 2 hours to get to on the Harlem Line because it goes through the Harlem Valley. The train station was just a 5 to 10 minute walk from my Parents house and you can see the train platform and trestle over the river from the back yard. I prefer the country to the city.
I did live a few blocks away from the Colorado State Capitol for a few months. Worst place I ever lived. I later lived in the suburbs of east Denver and Aurora and that was nicer. Would take a few buses to Boulder and hike the Mountain Parks and bike the flat prairie areas. The Denver Metro area has over 300 miles of bike trails.
Where I live now the window over my desk overlooks a wooded area that buffers a tiny airport but it is only a 30 minute walk to the Super Wal-Mart. My neighborhood gets raccoons and Florida black bears in the garbage cans at night. I have a gopher tortoise hole in my front yard and they are a protected species. I also get sand hill cranes walking around in my yard.
One2note: Never tried spam with rice pudding... it sounds delicious.
