That is unanswerable as in real life what can be taught in order to have a productive outcome depends upon Three Basics plus a few others
1 The Trade, Craft or Skill / s
2. The Attitude of the student (Seriousness, Willingness to learn. absorb and to take notes)
3. Respect for the Instructor (assuming he or she is fully qualified to instruct and not just teach)

Sewing buttons on, altering garments without using Wonder Web before bringing the sticky mess to me to sort out whilst expecting the standard charges and the art of never hacking a garment with a pair of scissors followed by the declaration that they've made it easier for me.

With all of the above, it doesn't need to be a trade or skill, the alprentice does respect the the teacher and he/she is willing to learn any lesson the instructor is willing to teach.
