jac_the_gripper: ...if a colleague, supervisor, or manager shouted at you, swore at you, or physically pushed you?
I’d stand up to them right then and there if it was worth my time. At a minimum I’d ask what there major malfunction was about and then kind of laugh and walk away without really caring to give them a chance to respond... jac
But our (FAKE) administrator (Doesn't have her license yet) does that to people right in the hallway in front of everyone, everything except pushing or touching you, she's caused a lot of people to rightout quit! we avoid her like the plague!
Hello, Jac , if that is meant like that that one colleague, one manager, one supervisor ... had done all this to me, then the first thing I would do is make a written protocol with time and date. I really would write as fast as I can get a pencil and have a calm hand and sharp mind everything down.
With the colleague I would speak before I use that protocol, but only if the colleague would have that done to me for the first time. I would ask him or her how it could happen that he or she overstepped the line of respect so much (sorry for my English). I would not show such consideration regarding the others because there is maybe abused a position, and because of the shouting and the pushing. So I would instantly take my protocol and report them. They have to deal with the consequences of their behaviour. The situation exists only because of them, not because of me, I would think. I hope that makes sense :-)
You have get a wearable mini recording device (from example from Amazon) that can reproduce any further evidence. I believe ACAS can be approached but not too sure on their scope or if they are in fact a white elephant - but they seem to market that they do get involved.

Well Jac if someone physically pushed me, it is an assault and I would call the police. Shouting or swearing by a Supervisor could mean they have mental health issues or they have no idea how to manage those in their care, (in both cases they shouldn't be employed in that capacity, ever) so report it officially to your line Manager and Union. Unfortunately, petty squabbles can happen occasionally among colleagues, if it is a case of bullying then it needs to be reported officially to your line manager.
It has probably happened to most people at some stage. Especially earlier in their career when they wouldn't be as sure of themselves, and/or the reporting protocol. A good company should have a proper system in place. If not, you either have the choice of taking them on directly, or going outside the company, especially if there was a physical assault. It is easier if you are joined a trade union to have official backing.
I work for a foolish government Corporation and there are basically 3 types of people. The Scorpions. The ones who want to sting you cause you make them look bad. The Vampires. The ones who need to extract your knowledge cause they are in charge. The rest are normal folks caught in the discombolulation.Bless them for now.

Here in the US, that is a biggie. Harassment. It has to be dealt with, pronto. If a colleague did it, then call the supervisor. Report to the management right away. If a supervisor did it, then whoever is in the higher level of management. Human Resources needs to be notified asap.
Depending on the findings if not resolved within the company, then lawsuit will be the next thing. We have State Board to handle that. Big settlements had been done in these cases.

I would address those kinds of issues by reporting it to their superior and failing that, report it to the human resources department. Where I worked, there were strict harassment rules and everyone is encouraged to report.
