Personally I think its only relevant for younger people. A 20 year old is way to old for a 16 year old partner, but a 50 year old with a partner in their 60's is no big deal.

I'd be up to a 10 or 12 year gap too

I think personally ten years is enough.
On either side...younger or older.

But its up to the two people themselves.
If they r happy then, be happy. grin

If there is a big age difference, then for me, if the man is younger
it would depend on how mature he is .if ok,, up to 20 years younger is fine.

.....Well.....just a personal opinion....somebody either loves somebody or not......it's not like anybody can stop themselves aging......of course everyone would like to stay young and beautiful.... but that doesn't happen.....I know of a lot of younger, beautiful people and they are not happy either....sometimes people who are lovely and young end up being totally self centred and will use their partner for as much as they can get from them....look at all the beautiful film stars etc.....has been young and beautiful made them happy?.. No I don't think so.....anyway....best of luck to everyone on here who has found love.....

18 adult..... to 120 that will be their years = 102 age gap is fine. :)

adult relationships should be about happiness together, not age.
if being with partner makes you happy for a second,. minute, hour , days, years....then go for it.
give thanks n praise for happy times together, when the end comes. we are all mere mortals.

don't listen to those who say coupes should be of a specific age . theres no magic formula re numbers or interests that guarantee success either way. don't be pressured by society to fence yourself in when it comes to love.

don't need anyone to say what need to have in common to love somebody. a loving feeling would do it . only can know that oneself.

imho.

cheers

Shouldn't matter when there's a good connection

I think maybe it depends on the mental age as well as the physical age.

And by mental age, I don't mean people with mental disabilities :-)

I mean, some people are settled at 20, hate the pub/nightclub scene, don't like doing anything physically demanding, etc.
They could easily settle with a 60 something of similar taste.

Then there are physically active, sociable older people who would be bored to death with couch potatoes, so they would suit an active younger person.

Age isn't the issue.

Power imbalance is an issue in relationships.

Age can impact upon power balance.

Maybe some people want a perceived power imbalance?

Yeah, there was no discussion about cameras.

I'm not sure why, because it seems like a good idea on many levels - documenting accidents, feedback of tuition and learner performance, etc.

One issue might be that cameras would have to be able the view knee level, as well as everywhere else. Another might be that codes of conduct might need to be introduced before monitoring those codes of conduct. Or maybe the suggestion of cameras might muddy the water in terms of getting legislation through.

I wonder about the implications of the added expense on sole traders - many struggle with the cost of the adapted cars as it is. Then there'll be how you monitor that sole traders are recording and storing footage.

Technology is much cheaper and more easily accessed nowadays.

It is a business after all. It should be just inbuilt into new cars, or retrofitted into older ones

I am sure they could be positioned in such a way as to cover all of the pupil.

And if they are not recording and storing it, it could be taken as a black mark against them if somebody does report them.

I'm hoping to find someone 20 years or a little more younger than me because I still want the chance at least, to have a child of my own. It would be much easier for me to find a partner closer to my own age but then to do so would be to give up completely on the dream that I have had since I was young, of having my own child and deny myself that happiness and I am not ready to let it go yet. So, in my humble opinion, 20 years plus is ok but there has to be connection on multiple levels.and a deep seated compatibility. I see adults as adults and in that, age does not come into the equation regardless of how many years they have been around. There are just some who are more mature than others and that has nothing to do with a persons age as I have known very mature younger adults and very immature older ones. A relationship where maturity levels are vastly different is the thing that causes failure in a relationship, not the age gap.
