I have been following this league for more than two decades and have notice how under represent the English born players are and how few make it onto the first team sheet? To discover why this is happening we have to go back and look at the abolishment of the bosman ruling,,,read below for details..
…looking back we could see why the bosman ruling existed and why we had it, because without it we have a very weak national football team and the home grow players start to dry up, because no team cares about where their players were born and in the end the team will be forgotten as a former world class team and world cup winner….

We also have rugby and this is a very rough sport and this guys don't wear crash helmets or tons of padding, unlike American football players...but hey...You have baseball and we have cricket......Football was created before American football

I agree with a few major points about the demise of local talent , due to the mass influx of overseas players, but you fail to mention all the foreign investment, with the likes of Roman Abramovich, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, to name but a few, who have invested billions of £s not only on the finest players worldwide, but build "state of the art" stadiums, with luxurious surroundings.
The demise of the national team has nothing to do with the influx of foreigners, when you look at countries such as Wales, N Ireland, Iceland & Greece not to long ago, who have domestic leagues hardly worthy of the name, but play with a togetherness, spirit & heart, lacking in the English player, when putting on the national shirt.
