MayaGilic: I guess this is the long shot try for most of us, maybe like a wishing star or justifying our efforts... I am disappointed in people and in men, obviously. :) I really prefer to spend time with my dog and my cat and my dad, these days... Books, music, movies, art, crafting... Anything is safer than going out and meeting people, opening up and fail! But in the safety of my room, I wish and wish. How about you?
Well, online or should I say here, means never to meet. So, i prefer meeting people in an open place anywhere. Again, people who are miserable in life can jump behind the computer and write like uni profs only to get you to keep them company behind the curtain. I never spend more than 5 minutes here.

I'm not good at meeting people when I am out because I have never been able to read body language with people I don't or only just know. It is a part of the autism spectrum and it has always been a killer for me when out in unfamiliar places. The last time I met interesting people while out was only because after being at the venue for 5 hours and having only spoken to the bouncer and explaining o him that I needed to meet some new people, he introduced me to a couple who became friends. It is not unusual for me to go out and not speak to anyone else all night just because I don't know how to make the approach or make the usual small talk that others seem to find so easy. It is one of the reasons I enjoy fist starting to build a repore with people online before I meet them in person, so that that initial communication barrier has been breached and we already have some common ground in what we speak about. :)

So far over the years, I don't meet people from online. I work, spend time with family, read, and a mix of different activities or out time.
I take part in activities and have no second thoughts being out in public. More realistic options are there if I ever decide it may be time to stop being single.
This weekend coming, I'm attending comedy night at a local event. Small event but there will be lots of people and some, I may even know.
