Krinka: I watched old STAR WARS films and some new ones long time ago, so I decided to enjoy the STAR WARS marathon and watch them all one more time.
I wasn't sure about the proper watching order, so I surfed the internet and found many different suggestions. I'm now considering these:
The Release Date Order: 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 The Machete Order: 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6 ,7, 8 The Storyteller Order: 4, 1, 2, 5, 3, 6, 7, 8 The Chronological Order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 The Time Machine Order: 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
What do you think? What would you suggest?
I have thought this too because of the way they did it, it can be tricky...I would go start at the real beginning of the story
Personally, I would stream them in the right order using apps (those apps which are not on the app store for obvious reasons however they do not host them so its not really a big deal - yet)

So, you would choose 'The Chronological Order'? Somebody on the internet wrote that 'The Time Machine Order' might be the best one, but I don't feel like watching episodes 4, 5 and 6 twice...

I find the story gets complicated unless you really concentrate and when all you just want is some escapism in to another world. The film "Lord of the Rings" was the same. Although the the original was well enough to get in to it.
I do watch movies in parts, if i dont get the time to watch a film fully in one go.
I would go by what the star wards fan forums advise.
The last film I saw was "The Darkest Hour" (Gary Oldman pulled it off playing as Churchill - he is finally getting his limelight after the many great movies he has done - he was in the very memorable film called "Leon")

I read the book ('Lord of the Rings') several times and when I watched the film the first time - I really missed some characters from the book. But, the film was nice. I couldn't get myself to watch 'Hobbit', though. The book is very short and - childish - so I've always had a feeling that the film must be slow and boring. Have you watched it? They say that they will also film 'The Silmarillion'...
I also tend to watch films in parts, so I guess I'd better not do this when watching STAR WARS.
I heard of 'The Darkest Hour', but haven't watched it yet. Thanks for the recommendation.

I haven't seen the hobbit however in junior school we read it in class, taking turns to do so.
I usually try to get through the back log of old good movies (its a treasure trove) which I never had a chance to see first time round.
The darkest hour is very different in the way they did it...its set over just one month, of the pending crisis.
It does not need to be movies there are great documentaries

I watched the originals when they came out in the cinema.. To me the 1st one is still the best.
After that, I have just watched them as I felt like it. I did go to see the last 2 in the cinema though. To me, they are cinema films rather than TV films.
Deedee123x: I wish my cousin was here to chat to you...she is a massive star wars fan....ye would get on great.
Was never my thing but may well give it a try.
Hope all is well with you.
I'm very well, thank you. I hope you are fine, too.
I was never a big STAR WARS fan, but - as a science fiction fan - I cannot avoid (properly) watching STAR WARS any longer. What has to be done - has to be done.

They were such popular films! People were standing in rows in front of the cinema to get the tickets for hours.

I watched episode 1 and 2, I think and then - somehow - lost interest. But, this time - I plan to watch them all.

The special effects overtake the film/the story line these days. With star wars they did not intend it to be a film at all. It was going to be sliced up in to parts for a childrens Saturday TV show.
During my school years there was a lot of teachers strikes...so we watched movies instead on those days. Thats how I got to see the film "Gregory's Girl" in school. At other times, one of us would buy a ticket at the local cinema and once in, let everyone else in, through the fire escape door. We used to do the same at the local swimming pool also.

Watch the ones that aren't political correctness on crack, where they've selected the cast on talent and developed their characters in the plot. The Force Awakens may as well have starred The Spice Girls. What was wrong with Star Wars before exactly? It was gay the whole time.

That is so true. Many films nowadays (especially science fiction ones) are made for teenagers.
I simply have no courage to watch 'Blade Runner 2049'...
DoubleFantasy: Sure thing (when I get a bit of time)
