Armed teachers (155)
When both my sons were in grade school level there was a program with the local police dept where the police pal program had been housed with an office inside that grade school.
The staff and students loved having the police there.
I don't know if I'd want the students teachers to have weapons but it would neat to hear about placing police officers in the schools.

That does sound like a good idea. I agree. I don't think teacher's should be armed but they seem desperate for some sort of changes to protect themselves and the students. Can't say I blame them.

O yes ! That's all we need . Going to school with teachers packing firearms. I'm not sure if this is making America great again or not ? What comes next, a daily TSA style line up and weapons inspection .

My opinion I posted on another gun thread...
I see that the latest plan is to arm teachers with guns. What happens in the cafeteria? arm the ladies there too I guess. Then the bus ride home, arm the bus driver I suppose. Of course, the sports coach will need to carry a piece, as will the librarians...
Then take a look at school uniforms, kevlar vests make perfect sense really, and obviously they're going to need helmets.
Maybe limit each student to 3 hand grenades each, or their packs will be too heavy and cumbersome to carry around in the freshly dug trenches.
It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

Also, students should be packing hand grenades, surface-to-air missiles, capsicum spray and a taser gun in their backpacks, just to be on the safe side
And when they go on a field trip, armoured tanks will hopefully protect them from the deplorable stance on gun control that the United States has failed to address, tragedy after tragedy.

A neighbor of mine in NSW was licensed to carry a concealed weapon at the locale town-hall during school plays and events etc

It's adding to that American atmosphere where nobody's comfortable in their own skin until that culture is so anxious and demented that it feels like a warzone without the war, this before the obvious, practical things that would go wrong with this idea. Armed teachers has to be the dumbest idea on the planet ... so many of them are mentally unstable and access to a gun will inevitably lead to reign of terror in some classes ...
I think Trump's suggestion was NOT to arm teachers but to consider whether employ war vets ... still not a good idea and for very mich the same reason.
