I think with a time machine it could be possible to make a marriage last 50 years. And I now pronounce you man and wife. Then you get into the time machine then come back to enjoy the 50 year anniversary.

My mom and dad made it to 45 years. If he didn't die from a heart attack they would still be married. They would be married for almost 52 years.

People tend to turn a great friendship and marriage into just another job.forgetting how to have fun and be best friends.
