Miwagi: Should you change your beliefs or values to be more accommodating to other cultures or religions?

no, not really. tolerance only asks understanding, not change [unless the change is to be understanding. I have meant fools so vacuous I am surprised they understand a breakfast menu....sigh ]

Whether we realize it or not, there is something each culture can learn from the other. We are too focused on other things to ever get a chance to.

Deedee123x: Fully agred with you Rainbow.
Its justnot so easy to maintain composure 100% of the time but its certainly worth the effort to try..
thumbs up You're right, its always worth the effort and not easy to maintain 100% of patience, to know when to hold back, know when and how to fold and unwrap the truth of you're main point, to try diplomacy tactics that doesn't hit as tone of briks to offend those that don't see the same thing or they see it from different perception, and to know when to walk away... Eventually, sooner or later we grow brave by reflection and he who's conscious approves his condact, will pursue principals of standing for what is right, regardless who will be or not be accommodated to approve his/ her views.
Integrity is choosing you're thoughts based on values rather than fitting in the crowd to accomodate their approval by compromising your values....
It can be exhosting tiresome when facing constant conflicts that one can just wish to 'give up' to pursue anything but one can not give up of being 'Me.' cheers teddybear

Generally, you can't and won't condemn a person for their views or life style (as long as they are with in the laws and not hurting others).

There's nothing to say you have to be supportive or part of them.

Miwagi: Since I've been here the only guy posting anything religious is stringman. And he seems like a pretty harmless old guy to me, but perhaps he is raging fanatic who should be silenced before his poison affects anyone here. Maybe we can report him to the mods and get him banned. Be forewarned stringman we are coming after you.
Stringman is a wonderful peacful christian man ! God bless him, the world would be a better place if is more people like him. wine

this above topic was not directed at anyone on here. I had been just talking to my son about bad drivers...but that's another topic.

I see some people expressing the thought of why should "I" be understanding when others are not? I guess sometimes we are called to be the larger person. Sometimes in truly heinous situations, I agree there is no call to be tolerant. But to the extent that people believe things we think are heinous, they are entitled to their freedom of conscience. dunno

If a hate group came to my door, I simply would not answer it.dunno

rainbowdream2017: I dearly love that peacful christian man who has my all respect and doesn't deserve any stones thrown at him.

Of course he doesn't. One sharp blow to the back of the head with a cricket bat would be more than adequate.

No, rainbow, all that was to do with Miwagi disapproving of me again, it's an ongoing thing. Just forget it.

The only thing that I disagree with you is that every religion is peacful.
In fact i said, there is NO tolerant religion, none of them are peacefull. NONE!

I never heard that Budhis made any terrorist act.
Buddhism is not a religion, Buddhism is a philosophy. And even there are what they call gods in Buddhism, non of those gods pressure people to pray to them or whatever. You can, but you don't have! And no punishment at all. tip hat
