I find it much more difficult to write/talk to the English people than Americans/Canadians. The English use many phrasal verbs and more complicated expressions. Although we learn British English at school, American English is much more present in everyday life - films, music, the internet...
I think "open source matters" (just like the internet) language is ever expanding and "fertile" in all directions (making it that bit more interesting in how others see things, and in any event the blanks are easy enough to fill in and learn from, and it can be added to ones own usage if desired) and because it might be because we like to talk and interact way too much! Every word we use has its own cape, hat and sword !
