People with benefits. (60)

I wouldn't say I'm an innocent but it does sometimes take me longer than most to twig on to certain things. One such instance of this that comes to mind would be the case of the term, "friends with benefits". I must have heard the expression countless times but either didn't give it much thought or just assumed it meant a mate who had the necessary skills to fix your car or who would look after the dog when you went on holiday. Once I became aware of what the phrase actually did mean, it set me off thinking. I wonder how many other kinds of people can come with benefits. For instance, do people have a cleaner with benefits, or is there such a thing as a carer for the elderly with benefits? I don't know, so the purpose of this thread is to provide me with the benefit enlightenment.

I don't want to touch the elderly with benefits part, but I'm fairly certain you could devise some sort of attachment for the trusty Hoover if you so desired.

Don't be so hasty, Miwagi. You're not far from the age when you'll be very glad of someone who is prepared to touch the elderly.

I'd like a cleaner with OCD. That would be of benefit to me.
