I beg to differ, Nam.
My dad had a tortoise he found in the road. He kept escaping, so my dad decided to make him a bigger, more secure run.
While he was doing it, my dad tied a string round his shell and attached the other end to my wee garden chair. The damn thing ran up the garden with me in the chair still attached.
When they get warm, they can go like the clappers.

You've got me thinking of the Jack Black movie I recently found on YouTube, if I remember..., it's titled, "The Year One."
There's a scene with a "high speed" ox cart getaway... It has Cain escaping, after killing Able.
The ox is pulling a large cart with three guys on it, at about 1 or 2mph.
The guys are screaming and acting like they're on a rocket; and Cain yells out "here's Godspeed for ya Dad!" at Adam: while he's chasing them on his own ox cart.

Oh you meant what human race? well as there are only 4 recognized races on earth Caucasian, Mongoloid or Asian, Negroid or black. A fourth race was added in 1962 Australoid. American is not a race. It's debatable what certain sub races descended from like American Indian, and many indigenous populations from South America. As for being boring I think it's more a case of individuals.
