NZ$1,47 per litre ... which looks cheap until you realise diesel road vehicle owners also pay RUC (Road User Charges) for each Km driven
Not more than 3.5 tonnes 62 More than 3.5 tonnes and not more than 6 tonnes 68 More than 6 tonnes and not more than 9 tonnes 138 Any RUC weight more than 9 tonnes 291
Given that increasing weight (up to 44 tonnes) produces an exponential increase in both damage to roads and severity of accidents it's easy to see that the Road Transport Industry holds a lot of power !
galrads: Ultra-Low Sulphur Diesel fuel here cost around $3.00 per gallon.
Last statement of mine that had diesel , Jan , 1.28 pump price . Includes 15% gst and before fuel card reductions . Goods and Service Tax is claimed back for business use , 16 cents off on my fuel card . Nett price drops about 32 cents , less than a dollar per litter .

Epirb, are you guys required to use low-suffer diesel on your roads?

big trouble a few years back when fuel lifted its quality , injectors in some old diesels and some rubber in cars failed . LSA diesel is used , not sure it has to be . Common rail injectors like good juice and are expensive to repair , self regulating to a point . Some expensive European cars were held back from market till the fuel was sorted . Its not the first time our diesel did not measure up compared to Europe , England in particular for use in Land Rover . Early diesel Land Rovers had problem after they had used the diesel shipped in them (60's -70"s models )

There is a difference between diesel and gasoline. Not sure why you ask about Diesel not that many people drive a car with diesel, are you a truck driver?

I guess some people might consider my 2015 Audi Q5 3.0 Turbo-Diesel a truck. I’m just curious as my vehicles performance and mileage have declined noticeably since VW recently modified it to meet USEPA mobile source emission standards. Might be time to trade it in on a Tesla or an Audi A7.
don't think we have low-suffer diesel in Aust, they might but do have Bio Diesel, however wagons like my Mazda 2005 2.5 turbo cannot handle Bio fuel. Price varies quite a bit, i hang out up in the mountains and here we are paying AU$1,40 per litre (or $1.42c), closer to the coastal towns can be as low as $1.29c, with advent of winter Alpine additive push price per litre up by about 0.10cents.
