With all the movies for many years now, displaying robotics, to everyone's imagination, is it really that surprising ?

It starts with the person writing the book/script, then it blows up into whatever they imagine.

Absolutely anything u can imagine and not yet imagine, will come to real life very soon !

Robotics has been moving in for a very long time. They still take people to keep them running and working properly. They require technicians at all levels; from the programming down to the work(s) being performed. In general purpose, maintenance, and long term upkeep; they're not cheap.

Luckily, so many products and environments aren't very good for AI since there are still many hand or man made parts that aren't quite reliable enough for programmed settings.

Of course, I think of them in a work sense and environment.

I think I'm more fearful of the idea that some think of them in a more "exotic" or intimate sense. barf

Question:-

What did the Chinese invent,

or

Did they just make a cheaper version of it ?

Absolutely Dragon, as we keep getting more advance on these creations, we know it will ultimately peak at the perfection of which flaw is non existent.

And there are so much advantage we can reap when that happens. Imagine, the ability to keep the machine running as efficient and less maintenance than our biological human composition.

My thinking is that when we reach that point, it will be so easy to push a button and end the world as we know again.

I am sure I am not the only one to think of the ultimate downfall of man and the world over and over again.

If it is true that our earth is at least a billion years (I have no doubt about it) and there are some mysterious or inexplainable monuments of man's achievement that are lacking feasible proof of their creation as to how and why, ie, the Pyramid, then I know at one time man peaked at some point and then poof, that button ended it all.

I feel we are getting close to that momentum and voila, this earth will start from the beginning over and over again.

Yep once AI surpasses human intelligence what need will there be for humans? Other than to be kept in cages as pets.

As far as I know, 2 have been given citizenship. The one they named Sophia in Saudi Arabia... each time IT appears it "jokes" wink about destroying mankind.

"THEY" have to tell us, what they are doing and what's coming (kind of a universal rule). So movies, (predictive programming) music, music videos, articles, humor (to desensitize & mock) etc.. put it all out there "for people who have eyes to see and ears to hear"

Whew that's even more scary Miwagi.

I'd supposed we must always be ahead of them.

Our control mustn't be relinquished or we're doomed.

Globalisation will change track. Travelling around the world to find the poorest and most repressed person to manufacture your Christmas presents will be like travelling 50 miles to the nearest water. Robot infrastructure will be like plumbing, where plumbing brings your basic needs to your door robots will bring your wants.

ChesneyChrist: The major working role for people will be as a fluffer. The actual builders of civilisation will pass away unless you're willing to pay people to exist. The genes which make people choose engineering instead of jokes will ultimately perish if the equivalent of social media is the only income for the vast majority of people and conservatives today should think again about things like Universal Basic Income. Romanticising work and nothing but work will not be a wise idea in the economy of tomorrow. Work will not be something humbling and grounding.
