i,m putting up this thread on here, because Norm Evans, otherwise known as cruiser on her, that was his profile name, passed away a couple of weeks ago following open heart surgery, and i just thought it fitting, that something should be said.He wa s a tough old bugger, that drove trucks millions of miles around australia,he had a warped sense of humor sometimes, but was always there to give a hand or help someone with a problem,he was an honest bloke ,a real down to earth aussie,he will be greatly missed by a lot of people. He passed away virtually homeless and penniless,as he was having trouble finding a decent rental house, but he had something that money cant buy,he had a lot of friends that repected him,and i,m one of them
Good onya norm
goodbye and i,ll catch ya later
...your old mate stefancheers

Thanks for passing on, cruiser and I didn't get along very well, but none the less he was good honest member of our CS forums.
Norm had problems in mind following the murder of his daughter, he was also i think mislead into believing his Uncle fired until it was red hot a machine gun at charging Japanese who Norm was told and believed landed and charged up Changi Beach in Singapore during WW2, which of course didn't occur the Japanese didn't land of Changi beach. So I got off side with Cruiser, I just hope he got over it and died at peace with himself...

gday rob
i knew you two never got along lol,he used to tell me and i said you two need to bury the hatchet haha, but no one said he was everyones friend. He wasnt someone to sit there and take shit thats for sure.In all respects to norm, and he used to ring me every few days,he wasnt in a disturbed mind about his daughter,i knew the circumstances of that crime,he wa s actually angry, not disturbed, angry about the law that let his family down, and when that guy got out of prison he wanted to neck him,i would do the same if someone did that to my daughter, its something that no normal human would forget. On the comment about changi beach, the japanese did occupy changi,The kempatai were thepolice arm of the japanese army from the 1800s to 1945,they totured and killed both civilians and prisoners of war, they also carried out mass executions of chinese.just after the surrender of singapore, and a major one was on changi beach.they also went out to sea, offshore, and tortured civilians and pows, and dumped bodies in the water, then came back to the beachs .In the sookching operation in1942,tens of thousans of chinese were executed for being anti japanese.norm may have mistaken his relation who was i think in the battle of sarimbun beach also,i remeber him telling me,and their were fotos of one of the machineguns bburned out from muzzle heat.in all respects to norm, hes not here,to say the japanese didnt land on changi beach is false...its history.but i wasnt there, and i dont know enough about itonly what he told me,and i beleive him,he never lied to me yet,he might of got some things twisted the wrong way,but to bring that up now, after he has passed away....mate....let it ride, its nothing.

That is sad to hear. I remember him well. It goes to show you never really know what load in life someone is carrying. May he rest in peace blues
