I put my college-days hockey stick out by my front door today....
I’m doing this like others elsewhere to remember the players on the Humboldt Broncos team who died last week when their bus was hit by big tractor trailer as they were on their way to playoff games in Canada.
I think fifteen players were killed with fourteen others seriously injured.

This explains the young man who donated to 6 people:
Thanks for the update with further information on this tragedy, CanuckLily!
Your prime minister had very thoughtful words for everyone concerning this tragedy.....
The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the tragic bus? crash that took place in Saskatchewan on Friday evening:
“An entire country is in shock and mourning today as we learn more about the tragic bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos that claimed the lives of 14 people, and injured many more.
“We are heartbroken knowing many of those we lost had their entire lives in front of them. We grieve with those facing news no parent or family should ever have to face. And our hearts go out to the community that has lost teammates, coaches, friends, and mentors.
“This is every parent’s worst nightmare. No one should ever have to see their child leave to play the sport they love and never come back.
“Our national hockey family is a close one, with roots in almost every town – small and big – across Canada. Humboldt is no exception, and today the country and the entire hockey community stand with you.
“I thank the first responders – the RCMP, the Provincial Response Team, and medical personnel – who worked tirelessly through the night, and continue to respond to this incredibly difficult situation with courage and professionalism.
“To the entire Humboldt community: We are here for you. As neighbours, as friends, and as Canadians, we grieve alongside you.”
M4_Mischief: A sad tragedy for sure....those poor kids......and two mothers...one who was full of joy that her son had survived and one who mourned her sons death for two days only to find out there had been a misidentification and that it was in fact reversed...one mother found out her son had died and another mother found out her son was alive....I cant imagine the heartache all around...I really cant....
just like so many other tragedies yes in time comedians would probably make jokes about this that man with the grey beard made a joke upon a comment is not a comedian is not funny I do not condemn this but people that complain must realise this is part of the human condition to sum it up I am a banker that should be w***** you are a w***** reading this and basically human beings are bankers that should be w a n k e r s
rizlared: Joking and politicising a tragic and gut-wrenching accident is beneath contempt. Just awful
I can never tell when galrads is serious or joking with his topics. It was a not story I saw on US news and I watch cable a lot. So I thought it was a joke thread.
But as far as politicising a tragedy goes, well the Democrats have a copyright on that. It is their official motto: "Never let a serious tragedy go to waste". They brag about it and they prove it over and over again every chance they get.
