I saw a fresh road-kill on the way home tonight after dinner with friends so I stopped and bagged him. This hog is so fresh his eyes balls were still rolling around in his head as I put him in a plastic bag and threw him in the back of my crossover.

Ok, Pete. I’ll try it your way. He’s been inverted and hanging in the shower for a while. He’s a slow bleeder, this one.

easy , you need to wrap it in clay so its totally covered without skinning or gutting it , same goes for hedgehogs . Place in dish with lid and when you have your microwave going cook it using usual cooking time for that weight of meat . When its cooked peel of the clay and the skin will come off with the clay . I would use a fire and bury it in the embers(note a) . Clay keeps it clean while dong the skinning .

note a , it would be the last thing I would eat .
Young ground hogs are very tasty. Last thing I would eat again is venison.

After having eaten venison for years I've gone off it something terrible , can't stand the stuff and wonder why people rave over it . More food value in a bag of rice . Before I had a fridge and then freezer here my sons and I used to catch just about anything around here , fresh meat still wriggling thrown into a pot or camp oven . There were a few times nothing was silly enough to be caught and it was vegan meal , it taught my sons to eat what was in front of them .
