The problem isn't with the microwave, it's with the cups. They put the handles on backward and now they stop at the back of the turntable. You don't need a new microwave, you need new cups and pans.
galrads: There is something wrong with its carousel. No matter what I place on it, the handle always stops at the back of the turntable. How can this issue be fixed.
Just a more positive suggestion than others offer. 1 - Disconnect from the mains & remove the glass caorousel tray and bearimg ring. 2. - Turn the case on its side to remove the base plate.& expose the drive. (depending on what make it is there should be a drive belt which drives the turntable so 3. Check the tightness of that drive as it could be slack and slipping.tcause the table to stop when under load. 4. If slack - loosen the motor mounting Screws and tighten the belt - re- tighten screws and test under power. 5 If cured disconnect from the power - Re- assemble the base plate and refit the ring.& turntable - 6 power up - That should have cured it

Sounds like you’re working on the two-stage, three-speed supercharger found on the Rolls-Royce Merlin V-12 in my old ski boat.

treat yourself to a brand new microwave oven. As appliances go, many high quality types can be found at very reasonable prices. Just get a new one. Try Fred Meyer (Kroger) or even a Bi-Mart (if you have a store like that near you) or go online and see what is available. A friendly "heads-up"--get a brand new one. If someone is ditching a microwave oven, there's a reason.
If the glass tray in your microwave doesn’t turn, it may be due to a broken drive motor. ...Most units have a round glass turntable which has a motor driven coupler and roller guide turning the tray. ...To access the motor, first unplug the microwave and remove the bottom panel..... The motor is usually held in place with a combination of retaining screws and wires.... If the motor makes a grinding noise or won’t rotate it needs to be replaced....Use a multi-meter to test the motor terminals for continuity if there is none the motor should be replaced....If the motor shows continuity but still isn’t working, the microwave may need a live voltage test which should be performed by a qualified technician.
OK THANKS I'll put all my official RR Merlin, Griffon Avon ( Lightning Mk1) and Hawker Siddeley Sapphire (Hunter) and EITB & C&G / BTEC Trade Teaching Certs all back in the folder, and carry on laughing at the lady Australian's instructions to get a qualified Techy in its 20's to test the f' in motor
