President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for North Korea diplomacy James S. A year ago, the prospect of President Trump being considered for a Nobel Peace Prize would have sent his critics’ heads spinning. Now, if all goes well in U.S. negotiations with North Korea, Trump should be the odds-on favorite for an award he will have truly earned.
The stunning moves towards peace on the Korean peninsula have generated the Nobel buzz. Resolving the almost seven-decade division — one of the last major vestiges of the Cold War — would be an epochal international event. South Korea's former President Kim Dae-jung was awarded the peace prize in 2000 for simply beginning the process of détente with North Korea.
The historic summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un alone has the makings of a peace prize-worthy effort, since it effectively ended a war that had been frozen since the 1950s. But President Moon went out of his way to give credit to Trump for setting the stage for the meeting. "President Trump can take the Nobel prize,” he said. “The only thing we need is peace."

That is for sure. Considering the build up of what was to come. Nuke and all that. Anyways, this is a monumental achievement that deserves celebration.

LJ. Have a blog on same, and did have a forum, but it seems to be gone. Anyway, let's hope for peace for the Korean people, and the NP for our brilliant POTUS. Aa-V.

It's great news. I fully agree.
We have to be careful not to get too excited just yet. Trump did what he could to spur the talks. He even realized that meant partially stepping aside and getting others, closer to the fray, involved.
It will still come down to the two Korean leaders before any finality starts to sink in.
So sad that as one major issue may be coming to a close with a silver lining; another may begin as new light on the subject of Iran's "deal" and "dealings" may be coming forward.
Chinese saying: Spread the disease and supply the medicine. The division of Korean peninsular was the consequence of colonial expansionism by Japan and all the super power in 19th. Russia and US divided Korea into half and half. Then China wanted a piece of pie and got involved the war later on. Koreans are just victim of this colonial confrontation without any malevolence of their own.
You caused the disease and hand out the medicine. And you get the praise as a savior. That's how it works. How about just get the job done without fanfare and just walk away.

Maybe things like this is the bonus of regressing into a pre-enlightenment stage where emotion governs. Are civilised and reasonable people good as wartime leaders? And is it easier to deal with a banana republic when you're a little bit of one yourself?

In world war 2 we had Winston Churchill and became a sociey which locks people up without trial. But when people felt like heroes in 1945, Churchill got sacked instantly that method of strongmen rule frowned upon by proven strong men.

The moral universe of the west may lean towards the new testament but globally the new testament gets taken down in a second. The enlightenment didn't properly happen anywhere else even if they do own factories and shares.
he didn't really have anything to do with the north and south getting together at all..just wants the credit for it .... if he wanted world peace then he should offer the olive branch to Russia ... but that wont happen ever .. mainly because he believes the US is the number one country in the world ,,,WRONG ...
