Lessons have been forgotten , my mum was pretty happy to have the US marines in NZ as a force to challenge Japan . This fella was here ,he wrote historical fiction . In one of his books Battle Cry he covered his time here , fiction it was but described part of my country I know well enough to know he was writing from his experience .
