It's easy for me to be brave and say yes whilst sitting in a happy safe position. I have no idea. I think I would have to be in the situation to know what I would do in reality.

No idea. My best friend died doing this - to defend a beautiful woman he threw himself in the path of a knife-wielding martial arts expert and this is an absolutely glorious way to die - but I'm not going to belittle what he did by casually claiming that I'd do it too.------ This thread is Archived ------

My life?? ...No i wouldnt.
My car...money if they needed it and were in dire straits...they could even have my home if it was that serious a situation..but my life...no....

Nope i wouldn't,,, my family are the most important in my life.I want to be around for them as long as i can.

In reality, we do give our life. We give it to those around us. We sacrifice ourselves on the altar day in and day out, believing we are doing “good” or what is right.
If I were to ask my friend if they wanted the sacrifice, I can guarantee that person would rather I stay alive.
A better approach would be “What can I do to help you?”
This allows them to be in control of the decision process and feel respected.
Of course, these are all hypothetical. One can never know the outcome while in the thick of the moment.
