enough of the weeping, moaning and gnashing of teeth......are schools so damned cheap and stupid so as not to put in metal detectors....?............tv news just loves the shootings......same old nonsense each time...........sobbing does wonders for ratings, doesn't it....??????........metal detectors will solve the whole problem.....Americans are tired of mentally ill boys playing shoot 'em up....we are also tired of tv news coverage of the carnage.........

Maybe I'm just a hillbilly, but maybe it might make more sense to eliminate the items that metal detectors detect i.e. machine guns.

We tragically had our worst mass shooting since we introduced gun laws about 25 years ago last week, a murder suicide where 7 people were killed. I'm thinking this would not be out of the ordinary in any week in America.

I think America have lost the plot in the long run...
Despite the tragic events it might take something even more disastrous to break through this gun worshiping culture...
The problem is that kids don't just love guns, they get excited of what they can do with them...kill...
I can kill you for rejecting me, for calling me an idiot, for not talking to me at all...
The old fashioned fist fight isn't working anymore...they see a radical and fast solution for their misery, loneliness and ugliness...
Metal detector? Yeah, in front of every house... roll eyes

We never had to worry about these types of things much. Educational institutions used to teach, more parents used to parent, and kids used to play out side, and even have to use their imaginations with the toys they had from a young age.

Besides; haven't you heard many of the democrats speak? It's more important to allow our laws to be breached then more regulated in order blame every thing but the actual people involved(even when it's the failures of the people that allow the actions to come to fruition). It's not all mental illness. That's just one of the latest angles they're pushing as long as people will buy it. Sadly, that's not all.

I agree with you and I think that any country, that allows citizens to have guns is leaving the door wide opened for violent crimes....People in America don't trust their own government and it shows, just how corrupt the deep state is....In the UK we don't allow guns and we are far more civilised for that reason...

You are right, instead of a fist fight or a verbal argument, they will just pull out a gun and press the trigger...people can't be given such responsibility over life and death, because it's too easy for someone to pull a gun trigger and murder another or others....

And in civilized UK instead of a fist fight they either stab you or throw acid in your face.

There isn't any way I would ever advocate taking a person's right to choose in such a demoralized society that exists today.

There are already schools with metal detectors and such in use across the nation. It's not entirely law yet.

Violence takes different directions with more victims when the ability to defend is taken away.

we spoke about this before and I showed you the gun crime statistics in America....Any country has acid available, has knives available to use against people, but not guns available to kill...I'm afraid the evidence shows, that America is a very violent place and it's because of guns...you know this to be true and you still defend it?

Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the U.S. gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher. Although it has half the population of the other 22 nations combined, the U.S. had 82 percent of all gun deaths, 90 percent of all women killed with guns, 91 percent of children under 14 and 92 percent of young people between ages 15 and 24 killed with guns.

Less than 4 gun related deaths per 100,000.

Many could have been prevented by people doing their jobs.

The so-called statistics are crap when other outside factors and truths are taken into account of which they're not.

even business insider, as much as they advocate for the so-called gun statistics, admits that other factors play a role. But not factored in.

When they put the whole picture and truth together for accuracy, iot's just a reference for politics to use. It's still far from a leading cause of death. It's just the one thing they want to single out.

And that is the main point. They CAN'T put the whole picture together for accuracy and truth but they can single it out.

Yep your right every country has acid available, but only uncivilized countries choose to throw it in people's face. And UK has one of the highest per capita rates in the world.

Duh The United Queendom has far more violent crimes than the USA Today.

I believe there isn’t a good way to compare violent crime rates in the USA and The United Queendom. Both countries have different definitions for what costitutes Agilent crime.

However, the UK is a more violent country per 100,000. For instance, one source says that UK has 775 violent crimes per 100,00 people and the USA 383 per 100,000 and another reports (Guardian] that the UK has 1677 violent crimes per 100,000 and the USA 466/100,000.

Either way, the USA is a safer place to live.
