secretagent09: Furthermore, the expiration date doesn't always mean that the food is spoiled after that specific date.
Tinned and jarred produce will keep more or less indenforly so there is no need for any dates on them.

Another thing is fizzy drinks which say they should be used within 3 days and as long as the cap is turned tight it will still be fizzy three weeks after it is opened.

Inthecountryside: Always a good place to look and if you don't want to eat it that day put it in the freezer until you want it.
