ChesneyChrist: However, austerity, severity and the whip hand an unusual effect on the depressed. The depressed are more content when the world is bleak and dangerous and perceived to be as such. They fashion the carrot out of stick wanting the pressures in life, for life to feel like a never ending battle they heroically survive is the reward for the depressed, they want to endure life and they want the world to endure it too. A bright society and people who enjoy life burn the depressed like the sun.
Consider Donald Trump. The reason a large portion of his fans seem depressed is because Trump says lots and lots of nasty things and puts people down a lot. People can relate to his nasty and nasty puts you at ease if you’re depressed. With an axe to grind your friend is the warts n all man with a beef, you then form a fellowship of grudgebearers like old men do in a pub. Anyway the depressed come in two different types normally - the openly hostile/bitter and the impossibly artificial and polite.

But a person who embodies genuine positivity does not promote the same in depressed people. Such a person is salt in the wound.

And the difference between the openly bitter and impossibly polite sort of depressed person is vanity. If vanity is great enough you won’t easily reveal how bitter you are no matter how depressed you are because bitterness is ugly. However, there are some occasions when the ruse fails and suddenly this person who seems like the personification of manners will let their mask slip revealing the ugly grizzly shit under the surface.

MsContessa: Most of the time stress is beyond our control...
Unnessary paper work in case of litigation
because some cannot do their job properly...
Such a waste of valuable time....spent just covering a**.......
I think you can, and you should, control your attitude towards obstacles caused by other factors: you can get adgitated, furious, hysterical... pre-infactional. Or you can stop for a moment, take a few deap inhales, assess the damage, notice that it's not life-threatening and, very often, proceed with your life as nothing happened. There are people, that would like to get you upset as a matter of controllling you. There are other factors, that are indeed beyond your control. But your reaction is not.

Snookums33: Human nature requires pressure,
of some kind or another,
for anything to succeed.....

Who performs well under pressure....?
and
Who doesn't.....?

Stress is killing humanity slowly but surely,
as tomorrow is never too early,
it must be done right now,
never mind the extra effort involved,
and the people laying down the law,
has the least to accomplish...….

R we All going to die from heart attacks and strokes.....?
I don't know about that "we" thing but I'm not gonna die of stress, lmao!
I've been working to eliminate stress in my life for ten years and I can now say that stress is a stranger to me.
I made sure to join a company that doesn't see its employees as expandable slaves but people with private lives. The salary isn't the best but I've outgrown the childish notion of getting rich in a corrupt world.
I make sure to keep my business to myself and other people's business away from me.
I don't meet or make "friends" as often as I used to as I noticed that an awful lot of stress comes from selfish people who call themselves your "friends" while doing everything to stab you in the back.
Being 48 without kids and a nagging wife has helped a lot, too. I miss family life ( the ideal of it anyway ) but it's no longer an option for a self-respecting man these days.

I had a grandma and grandad living on a farm in SA, stress free. That's how I want to retire......

Never let others influence your decisions and pressure you. By airing your views to others they may see you in a different light. Confidence is the key.
