I remember a few years ago when I first wandered in here that the conversations used to be varied and many on the Australian/New Zealand forums... but now... it's like wandering through a ghost town with tumbleweed and I am just waiting for a cowboy to emerge with a gun...

hmmmm… now there's a thought... daydream

Seriously though.... what happened to the friendly banter and interesting topics?

I guess that happens... After all, I was off the site for over three years while I did the 'love' thing. laugh

But surely are some still lurking?

It's hard to meet people if they don't come out and say hello. uncertain

I think many regulars still using CS more often post in the international forums and blogs.

The Irish forum used to be buzzing before too.

Now it's a ghost town

People just got bored listening to Aussies and Kiwis, I know I certainly did!

I used to watch the Irish forums from time to time... I couldn't actually understand some of their subject material … but I found the way they communicated to be interesting. They say Australians are blunt and to the point... I found the Irish on those boards to be the same. I can see how many of us have Irish heritage. smile

It's just odd that our common interests don't come to the foreground more often on the local boards. I guess it's cyclic and it will return one day.

robplum: Some of it was good, couple i still wonder what happened. Think most people meeting partner on here had issues, computer dating has flaws i think. There was some pretty angry outbursts, out of Queensland mostly that saw quite a few exit the forum.

I've maintained posting birds in part to keep NZ Aust forum going. Though I'm also to share the photos, i maintain an interest in international affairs and do my best to serve humanity in a positive way by posting opinion and news in both in NZ/Au and international forums. Somebody need to straighten international affairs out otherwise they will blow us all away.

Personally i don't listen to music, and guard my mind carefully so no i don't miss a lot of what was been posted in here
I think it's great that people move on and into the real world so to speak... but it would still be nice to have a bit more interaction on here. I am not sure it's necessarily 'computer dating' that is flawed, but rather than rules have changed over the years when many of us were in committed relationships. I no longer understand how it works and I freely admit it. And then of course, I can make a thousand excuses not to date... work commitments, social commitments... but at the end of it all... I still miss meeting new people.

I used to post photos on blogs, but I can't recall how to insert a photo. laugh I like to take photos on my day trips and I enjoy seeing the trips others make.

It's interesting that you think you have to 'guard' your mind, Rob... don't you miss your carefree days when you could trust everyone?

There's always a temptation to blame someone or something, the reality is there are not many Aussies on here. The main forum, is a guy's wildlife photojournal.

The Irish section can be funny at times, they've got a great sense of humour.

You can add photos by uploading to hosting site like:

After you have uploaded copy the Hotlinks for Forum codes and post into a forum that allows pictures...

Buddhist guard mind, block negative clap-trap

I take advice from skilled, highly qualified teachers like Dalai Lama and certainly not from christians like i used to. Because unfortunately once upon a time when i trusted everyone as i didn't know better, I woke up in a place called Vietnam, now i guard mind all the time.

Greetings Pat,

I certainly wasn't laying blame... I was simply curious. I would have thought that with our common bond that conversation should flow. But I believe this truly is just cyclic and eventually it will change.

Yes, the Irish can have a good sense of humour... if you can keep up with their banter. laugh

Thank you for the information, Rob. It certainly doesn't sound familiar.. .I don't recall using a method like that last time I was around. But it never hurts to learn something new.

A zen-like euphoria would be nice.. .if I could maintain it.

I guess cyclic would be one way of looking at it, people leaving and others joining. I cant see it ever going gangbusters, but lets hope new people feel comfortable to join.

Six years in a relationship was your priority at the time, Tony... and while you think it came to nothing... You had some great times while it lasted. bouquet
