Stay right where I'm to. The weather may be crap but freedom and health care are very strong motivators to stay.

mca21979: If you were able to move to any other country without it strongly disrupting your current responsibilities, where would you want to move. I personally would move to Sweden, Denmark or Germany. I say the first two because they are usually near the top of all the most important societal rankings and Germany because my family ancestry originates from there.

Amsterdam, Greece, Canada, Italy, France … Though, that's just wishful thinking; I'll probably never move out of the U.S. but you never know … stranger things have happened. cartwheel wine

Hows the economy there now? My best friend lives there and she tells me some high street stores closed down. She works but she still hasn't been able to find a job on her level.

Things are unstable everywhere, unless thing plays out right, your right in what you say. We can hope this blows over but should be ready in case it don't.

I am a British Citizen I currently live in Sweden where I have resident and work permits for life and also Californian ID, a green card and A US social security number. That gives me the options of living in three countries.
I currently live in Sweden as it is a beautiful country, universal health care and education are free, the standard of living is high and the Swedes are very nice people. I also have a son here.
England to me is like a foreign country now which has become overcrowded.and I don't think I would ever return there.
The US is fine with some very nice people there, but there are are some problems with health care as most things work on a commercial basis.

I would say that The US is good place for young, healthy and dynamic people.
England used to be a nice place, but now there are terrible housing problems for the indigenous population and it is a much more violent place than it used to be. Even young people would find things difficult there.
Sweden and Scandinavia are the best places to live in and then travel abroad, being able to come home again.

Well I am now living in my 6 th country which is Spain. Been here a year.
I’ve live 7 years in Australia, 9 years in Japan, 6 months in Greece, 6 months in The Maldives and of course altogether about 40 years in my native UK.

Of those 6, which is my favourite? They all had their charms.
You might think I would say The Maldives...it is Paradise, but it’s pretty primative.

So my No1 is Australia..it had everything for me.
2nd Japan....3rd Spain, 4th Greece or The Maldives..
Last.....the UK...what a tragic social mess it has become.

I can't judge countries I haven't visited, but of the ones I have been to, I could live in Spain and possibly Chile, Canada and Italy.

I couldn't live in a country where the crime rate is so high as to always be an issue.

I'd stay where I'm at. Maybe a different state at best.

I have ancestry from near and far. It has no bearing on mine, my children, or at least 3 generations before me. It's nice to know. It may even be nice to visit some of the places of origin. It doesn't change where the roots were planted and have grown to the present.
