Naivete: Avatars could be pictures of flowers, cartoons, scenery, etc.
I always use my own photos and - truth to be told - I feel uncomfortable doing so here.
The only other option is - not to use photos at all and I don't like it either. I have a feeling that it's somehow disrespectful toward other members who use their photos. Maybe others don't feel like it, but the personal photo gives at least SOME credibility to someone's words. When people don't use photos ... it's like they are ashamed to be here with the rest of us and worried not to be found out by family members and friends.
If we would all use avatars - that would be OK for me, but some people using photos, others don't - it's somehow not equal...
