bodleing2: Thanks intrigued, What stands out to me in your post is the word "try." Best not to try doing anything, other than maybe focusing on your breath without any expectations. Thoughts will come, that's the nature of mind, but just let them be and return to the breath. Don't expect anything to happen, just sit quiet and enjoy the stillness. Just be a human 'being", instead of a human doing.
I suppose try is the wrong word to use when it comes to breathing. I hear what you're saying Bode and I'm really interested in how one can discipline themselves to sit quiet and to quiet their minds like that....think I've got some reading/learning to do because I think it would help me a lot.
bodleing2: In recent years years extensive studies have proven beyond don't that meditation, providing it's practised on a daily basis, has many benefits to health and well being. Mindfulness classes are now available on the NHS in the UK due to the proven benifits of this form of therapy. Have you ever tried, or do you practice meditation?
Yes I have tried it , my brother introduced me to it...and I found the benefits of it to be plentiful....I did a course on it and I do think they should bring it into schools as part of their curriculum....it's something along with social awareness that should be taught in schools....I do think the younger kids learn this the easier it is to make it an every day thing as brushing your teeth is.
