As a city chap , I often visit the British countryside to get away from the big smoke. So what exited you about the countryside? Is it the smell of freshly produced waste from farm animals , or watching range rovers in their natural habitat. I'm always amazed how friendly pub landlord are , unless you are foreign Black , gay or lesbian !! What's your experiences?

I grew up in the countryside where I was closer to nature.Loved visiting the pond near our property and watching the ducks and the geese as they landed in the water. It was so nice and peaceful out there away from crowds of the big city.

I can relate to that bear! It's amazing how we take nature for granted because of of the fast pace of city life ...

I think it's just that, getting away into the countryside, peace, tranquility, rugged beauty, fresh air, as opposed to the fumes from cars trucks etc It is good for the soul,,In Ireland,a trip up the west coast is just wonderful. Being at one with nature is a real gift to be treasured.

One2note My parents always made sure that my older siblings and I used nature as our playground.I lived in the big city only once and felt as if I was in a prison.

I would never ask to leave the countryside. The sounds of water gushing down streams and bird song. Sunrises and sunsets across a lake. Lapping of the sea against the rocks... The smells of woodland and bog land (turf) our natural habitat!!!
