One2note: As a city chap , I often visit the British countryside to get away from the big smoke. So what exited you about the countryside? Is it the smell of freshly produced waste from farm animals , or watching range rovers in their natural habitat. I'm always amazed how friendly pub landlord are , unless you are foreign Black , gay or lesbian !! What's your experiences?
I love living in the countryside.
I have rented in towns in the past (and found it handy for a while) but never wanted to live in a big city. I like to visit these occasionally though.
Have a place in the countryside these days, close to a small town (where I can get everything I need), a garden, growing veg and flowers, nice neighbours and I can step out of the front door and walk up a quite country lane.
We are neither Irish nor local so people leave us pretty much alone.
Best of luck with your recent visit to another country to meet a CS member btw.
annaroach: Isn't that a win win situation on a few counts. Get a good price for their property, relocate where it is cheaper to buy, more dosh in their pocket,, and living where it is better for their health,, and just commute!!
No??
would be cheaper to pay high rent than commute in and out of London, that traveling aruund London causes serious stress and that's worse than the fumes,,

Then there,s the problem of public transport in the sticks everything is the car ,, more cost and fumes ,, can't win either way,,
