As I grew up, one album above all others became the regular listen, my first introduction to a concept piece... 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' / Genesis / (1974)... The words genius and masterpiece are thrown around today with carefree abandon for works of regular or average value... Lamb was a 95 minute journey through a labyrinthine world of strange creatures and wild imagination, musically dense and textural, lyrically rich but confounding, it was the final Genesis album to feature Peter Gabriel as the groups front man... Even now, 44 years later, it still haunts me, it's not everyone cup of tea, but Genesis fans and followers of the early days still regard this as the pinnacle of the bands achievements...
The full story of the Lamb in four parts is pinned to the comments section of the video clip... This is the full album, remastered... Run time approximately one hour thirty five minutes...
