Anybody no anything about caring for rabitts? food, cleaning and the daily care?
i was offered a bunny today and i am interested but (my daughters are pushing me too). Of course i am sensible and think about the care involved they just think oh its so cute then i get stuck with all the work. lol. i am not sure if i should? i am going to read about it on the net but i thought i would ask here as well.
what about a dog? some have told me pets are fine with them. this bunny is coming from a pet family of 3 dogs and two cats. they are getting rid of the bunny coz they have too many pets. so they tell me.
They are very smart. Each has thier own personality... The male I had used to tryand scrunch his face up when he was pissed, hehehe. Looked like a walnut head.
Then, they do the bunny flop-twist when they're happy!
We used shaving. They can get messy. They really are good pets, and it shows kids more hands on...
I believe there are alot of online pet care sites. Some geared for specific breeds...

Please don't leave them outside unattended because they are lethally allergic to bee stings. It usually sends them into convulsions and they die screaming. Had this happen to a friend who put her bunny's cage outside on a pretty Spring day and her bunny got stung by a honeybee, died crying and convulsing (spelled wrong?) Good Luck with the bunnies though, great pet for girls
Cleaning. First break the neck. then cut them from head to foot. If done right you can just pull on the ears and the skin will pull right off. Pull out any thing that is not meat and toss it out.
Daily care? If cooked right there will be no left overs..

Know you didn't mean too..but your post reminds me of very bad childhood memories of this process... Don't think I need to follow this thread too much...very painful! But I understand that some people do like to also eat rabbit.
I don't know specifically about care for rabbits but I do think that (if you are able) it is important that children are introduced to animals at a young age and that they are able to develop an appreciation and respect for the little critters! I have had pets and mainly dogs most of my life - I couldn't ever imagine not being brought up with animals around - good for the soul!!
