Here in North Carolina we just went through Hurricaine Florence two weeks ago.

We evacuated to a hotel but where we went electric power was lost so we only stayed there three nights

My daughter's house is within steps of the beach so she had water in her basement and wind damage to other parts of her house.

My house had damage to the siding and I need a new roof.

A tree split and a large branch came down that hit my carport.

We didn't have power back at our houses so my daughter, her husband and two dogs stayed at my house.

It was extremely hot and humid and of course any food in the fridge had to be thrown out.

Eventually one grocery store opened which happened to be a very expensive store.

It was impossible to get gas for our cars

We had to get buckets of water from the standing water outside so we could flush the toilets.

It was a very, very stressful time.

My best wishes for safety to those folks in Alabama and Florida.
