Do you keep or own one?
There are some importance of having one.....

A diary is a great way to keep track of life. When you have a diary, you are able to recall all the little successes and failures in life that are important to remember. Without a diary these things easily get lost in our memory.

With a diary you can always compare yourself to yourself in the past, and therefore make better decisions about your present and future.

I think that if you are into self-development and personal growth, a diary is pretty much a must have. The only problem is that we are usually too lazy to keep one. But trust me, if you get one, you will see a tremendous amount of benefits.

No, I never had or felt the need to have a diary...
I don't want to compare myself to what I was in the past, I am not that different...
But one thing has changed...instead of fighting with life I now flirt with it...

Do I keep a diary? No, I don't. But I should. Keeping one requires reflection and introspection.
Those are good activities, no? As Plato said,
'The unexamined life is not worth living.'

The only thing I keep a record of are my dreams..the lucid ones ...as I want to analyse them later.

I keep a book by my bedside for that purpose.

Bonjour Mesange wave
Tu es française?

I also only write my lucid dreams which take place around 5am..and write them while still half conscious.

As for interpreting...I do this at the subconscious level...meaning ...in some kind of hypnotical state...going back into the dream.

I don't keep a diary. I prefer photos. I have a lot of photos of my daughter from being a baby to graduating from the Police Academy and then my own photos of her wedding. If I attempted to document all those years in a diary it would never reflect what I see in photos. A picture is worth 1,000 words.

A diary has absolutely nothing to do with comparing yourself to your past.

People keep diaries for much deeper reasons.

I agree. Your diary is your private dialogue with yourself, a recording of the events that define who you are.
