One2note: Let's say for example , you got chatting to someone from abroad .. now I know you're gonna say "I don't date outside my country , but if someone was going to a lot of trouble & expence , for arguments sake, wouldn't you be a little curious to talk face -face .. Isn't that a reasonable request ?

If I may add my thoughts... I place a great deal of stall on an original profile... How its written, is it inviting, does it show a mind at work... Most importantly, is there 'original thought', no walks on the beach, cozy nights in, gsoh... I want to be hooked enough to make the first move, and if I do, the person is already 20% there... A good profile (whatever is your thing) is your marketplace, it's your first contact.... That's how I take it...

One2, I think your main problem is possibly that you are not a good judge of character.
That you can't 'read' them well.
But Skype probably doesn't really help you there.
