Limun: And thanks to the Vatican, we now have now a bunch of ``emigrants `` who will bring back the family values
Maybe but not our cultural family values, much less our way of life.

One2note: With so many single women nowadays, either through choice , or a busy lifestyle, or even , dare I say, from previous bad relationships , have they lost their femininity?
Most , through no choice of their own, have taken over the traditional male role, which has increased their testosterone level , thus making them more masculine, as a pose to feminine.
You may argue the opposite, but subconsciously, is this the real reason why so many women have become so frustrated & bitter creatures, in the modern era ?
I agree 100% not all women but a lot want to be the boss in the relationship in all departments and call all the shots even domineering to the point of ending the relationship
I hope to find a old fashion young woman that is the opposite to our two posts here!

mollybaby: The counter-argument to that is that girls who are brought up by single dads turn into testosterone-fuelled woman-haters.
Would you agree with that?

Or might it possibly be that children who are reared properly turn out to be well-adjusted humans, no matter who rears them?
I totally agree with the last sentence.

I reared a family and worked.
My programmes would involve working with lots of men.
It didn’t change me into a man.
I love being feminine and I love a man who is masculine.
Whimps do not exist in my world! Nor do butch women!

MisterForYou: 1-2, I agree in general, but not in particular. I know of more than a few relationships where the women 'wear the pants', as they say.
Lots of women are forced to 'wear the pants' because the men won't take on the responsibilities of pants-wearing.

I know plenty of women who have to basically run the entire household even when there is a man there.
The smart ones eventually recognise the fact that it's easier to do it without the deadweight.

But in general, most would have been quite content to step back and let the man take on his manly responsibilities.
Few men or women want to be everything, to do everything. But if it's forced on them, they will.

jac_the_gripper: I'm sorry, I still can't see any positive role model behaviour in this post.
You call other people names and tell them they're childish.
I doubt it's possible to make the question any simpler

It's an adult dating site ... to whom do ewe imagine I'd be seen as a 'role model'

Role model. Term used to describe a person who serves as an example of the values, attitudes, and behaviours associated with a role.

Typically an adult who is in a position to influence children (which is the exact context used here)

For example, a father is a role model for his sons. Sports and music stars are often seen as positive or negative role models to their fans.

Role models can also be persons who distinguish themselves in such a way that others admire and want to emulate them.

On adult dating site there's no expectation of being a role model to anyone ... unless you care to propose such 'role' as you're attempting to project ???

We live in an age of complementary extremists - Scrooge and Buddha. Greed is good meets navel-gazing, selfishness and narcissism and what these represent are the extreme form of male and female. Buddhism doesn't have a masculine side, Thatcher didn't have a feminine side and yet they mesh around the principle of not caring about the world outside of you.

Haves against have nots, extremism against moderation, specialisation against roundedness. It is much more a case of these things than it is woman versus man.

Totally agree. I've seen it, and actually, lived it in various degrees. Love and commitment in parenthood means sharing, not shirking responsibility.

If one shirks, the other has to pick up the mantle, be it male or female.

I think it's what they hope exists in some parallel universe where women bat their eyes coquettishly, wear pretty summer dresses, hang onto their every word, are totally dependent on them, wait on them hand and foot, and love them unfailingly no matter their faults.

Or something like that laugh

What interests me is that feminism has made women behave more like Ayn Rand and Margaret Thatcher. Mannish to the point of gross obsession - but only on certain levels. The front people put up is increasingly masculine, in the city everybody walks with gritted teeth but it's not the whole story.
