Just watched the first of the new series with a woman as the Doctor, not sure if it is me, but the acting was awful by the entire cast, not one was believable, the script was awful and the whole program awful. The BBC has managed to destroy something special, seems to me the BBC always break the best and keep the rubbish, Top Gear, Dr Who, etc etc.

I like Dr ho and it's early days yet, I agree the story lines aren't too good yet, but at least the Tardis doesn't change. give it a bit of time. Red Dwarf is quite good too.

Well, I can't remember watching dr who, but I still got some pockets, about him fighting the Daleks. Loved those books in my early years, but it's a long time since I've read them.

I saw that Bradley Clown from 'The Chaser' on the trailers ... that was enough to save me wasting time watching !
Bradley to Cyberman 'You have been caught, so for you The Chase is over ....'
Cyberman to Bradley ' Die weak minded earthling ... '
I wasn't particularly impressed with them deciding to go all PC and turn the Doctor female, after all, in series one, the Dr had his granddaughter with him, she called him Granddad. I was willing to give it a chance, but she is not a good actress IMO, she has none of the original Dr's ideology, and her timing is way off base, the rest of the cast are not much better.
Won't bother wasting my data downloading it in the future.

Haven't watched it (nor indeed any series of Doctor Who - sci-fi is not my bag, baby), but I gather it is turgidly PC? Yet another example of the mass media trying to brainwash young people.

Been a Dr Who fan since the original series that had me hiding under the table from the Daleks!
'Turgidly PC' expresses it fully and in fewest words!
'Brainwashing along PC Lines ' They're trying to be 'inclusive' only missing the blind lesbian transgendered wheelchair user to balance up the mentally challenged (played by Bradley) while the overy simplistic and totally predictable story lines are (I suspect) written to accomodate the particular challenges experienced by ADD sufferers.
They've managed to make it as gut wrenchingly appalling as the post Clarkson,May,Hammond Top Gear series ...
I believe the last episode was season 11, episode 11 this past January.
I agree this woman playing the role is a terrible choice for the part. She is wooden of face, doesn't properly emote and the lines are delivered like at 5th grade school play.
Also the air of political correctness that has crept into the show really makes it suck. Every episode has anti gun or pro gay messages. One wearies of politcal BS in a TV show.
The season ended and between lousy scripts, political hyperbole this past season and very poor acting I think it possible we may have seen the last of the good doctor. A shame it was a good run. Sigh, I miss Rose.

Now, I might be persuaded to watch Doctor Who if it starred the excellent trio of Clarkson, May, and Hammond.

i liked dr.who from the time of the x baker actor. usually a tongue in cheek attitude, toilet plungers converted to ray guns in daleks and some moments and episodes with great imagination.

I've been a Doctor Who fan since i was a little kid, and although i like the actress (Jodie Whittaker) who stars in the lead role, i feel she's just not right for the part ... or probably any other Woman come to that. Whilst i'm all in favour of equal opportunity for Womens roles, Doctor Who for me is a male character which should never of been tampered with. Also the change to having 3 companions isn't doing much for me either as it tends to take too much attention away from the Doctor making the whole experience a distraction more than anything else. Although i thought the storylines of the recent series were reasonable, they were far below what fans have come to expect. Nope!, the whole dynamic of the show had changed ... and not in a positive way.
