Skid Road: How California's army of homeless has turned the state's richest boulevards into RV parks as exorbitant rents force families and full-time workers to live on four wheels
Thousands of California families living in RVs as exorbitant rents leave many facing homelessness
The Golden State is home to about 12 percent of the US population and a disproportionate amount of the nation's homeless at 22 percent
The situation has become so dire that grassroots organizations and non-profits such as SafeParkingLA have sprung up to identify and set up safe parking areas
The growing problem has sparked a cottage industry of RV and vehicle 'landlords' who rent out everything from bunks in camper vans to box trucks
RVs are everywhere and anywhere around Los Angeles – clusters of them on residential streets, in industrial parks, near high schools and church parking lots.
There are thousands of them, dotted around the city and the county, in a trend that’s impossible to miss – and one that extends across the Golden State. From Palo Alto to Sacramento and San Francisco, the proliferation of RV and vehicle living has become more and more obvious in recent years against a backdrop of complex socioeconomic issues.

Many slides and videos. RV's line up from Los Angeles blvd to Palto Alto

These are not drug addicts or criminals. They simply can not afford rent.
Most work and at least 60% are under 40 years old & some are even salaried.
That scenic route of Los Angeles blvd with palm trees and mountains in the background is gone.
22% of California is homeless

San Francisco Bay Area Experiences Population Decline

One of California’s most populous regions is in the midst of population decline. According to The Mercury News, population growth for the San Francisco Bay Area is at a 15-year low.
The decrease is due to fewer births, the deaths of an aging generation and larger numbers of people moving out of the area. The population decline mirrors that of a statewide trend as more people are choosing to move out of the Golden State

“Meanwhile, I’m hearing that there are conservative Americans in the DC area who are talking about attempting to emigrate to one of the #Visegrad countries (Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland). They see no hope anymore here.”

CossackCat: New York City is careening closer to all-out financial bankruptcy for the first time since Mayor Abraham Beame ran the city more than 40 years ago, experts say.
As tax-fleeced BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS FLEE EN MASSE, and city public spending surges into the stratosphere, financial analysts say Gotham is perilously near total fiscal disaster.
Long-term debt is now more than $81,100 per household, and Mayor de Blasio is ramping up to spend as much as $3 billion more in the new budget than the current $89.2 billion.
“The city is running a deficit and could be in a real difficult spot if we had a recession, or a further flight of individuals because of tax reform,” said Milton Ezrati, chief economist of Vested.

“New York is already in a difficult financial spot, but it would be in an impossible situation if we had any kind of setback"

CossackCat: There are more people fleeing some states than are coming in. Especially California, New York.

In default: Illinois, Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey.

There are many reasons for this: no affordable housing, no jobs, extreme taxation, crime (also, external migration, sanctuary cites & politics)

The top 8% of the (so called) "elite" own 85% of the global wealth.
The top 7% own 45% of global wealth.
The top 0.2% own 50.1% of global wealth

The middle-class has been systematically elimated for TEN YEARS or more. It you don't have a strong middle-class then you don't have a strong country.

Yeh it's sad to see a country that had so much going for it just crumble in front of our eyes....The me me me attitude that seems so pervasive in the US, bad management for decades, directing all the money towards the military and waging wars is crucifying everyone I suppose....

MORE FEAR MONGERING....

Americans have been fleeing the US for decades....hence the reason why you're passport is now so weak and also why every American abroad has to delcare their bank account to american revenue..in fact, most, if not all banks will specifically ask if you're American when setting up your account, they will then notifiy US revenue...that comes from decades of Americans leaving the US...

And a country with a stronger working class and sizeable wealthy elite will always survive longer and better than a country with a strong middle class...middle class are usually too lazy to work as hard as the working class and too stupid to know how to get to being part of the wealthy elite....middle class are just a buffer zone to keep the rich and poor seperate as well...far more working class make it to being part of the wealthy elite because the middle class have investted too much time, effort and energy in getting their degree then spent more years getting to their managerial job with a modicum of power... to waste it on entreprenurial endeavours and the hard work that goes with it....

Escape From New York: Wealthy Residents Flee In Droves As The City Degenerates Into A Hellhole

Hundreds of thousands of wealthy residents have already left New York City, and more are leaving every day as America’s biggest city rapidly degenerates into a hellhole

According to the New York Times, there was a mass exodus of 420,000 New Yorkers between March 1st and May 1st…

Roughly 5 percent of residents — or about 420,000 people — left the city between March 1 and May 1. In the city’s very wealthiest blocks, in neighborhoods like the Upper East Side, the West Village, SoHo and Brooklyn Heights, residential population decreased by 40 percent or more, while the rest of the city saw comparably modest changes.

Can you imagine 40 percent of your neighborhood leaving in just two months?
