While I mock myself about my disciplined storage methods I must say it makes cooking (which I love) a breeze
I could find every single item blindfolded and know exactly what I need to buy when I shop
I'm always staggered by people who have numerous blocks of cheese, tomatoes growing mould cultures and long-forgotten takeaway cartons in the back of their fridges
Then they go out and buy more of it and shove it in front
It's true that being somewhat obsessive can help in certain instences. I never look for my keys nor have I ever lost my wallet. I've never forgotten to lock my doors ( house and car ) and I can tell instantly if something has been moved or taken from my place... But overall, OCD isn't a good thing. I didn't know about the condition until it was way too late to go see the shrinks. I just thought all those things were quirks of personality.
Left to right, I do dessert spoons, then knives then forks
Apparently some arrange their drawers according to how a place setting is laid out but I'm thinking that's a bit obsessive, I mean seriously
weellll....i'm a bit ADD, and OCD...and pretty much EIEIO...
things i like about my ocd: everything has a place, and i can find it quick and easy. this includes the kitchen, storage and studio. like you, i know what groceries to buy, and the fridge is organized and clean.
what i don't like: i tend to balk at change...feeling fear first. and this tends to ruin what could be more enjoyable if i was more flexible.
what i like about my ADD: can't think of anything.... but i used to have a get goat....

From left to right,.....forks, knives, soup spoons and a larger space for steak knives and there's a spot at the top of the tray where I keep the teaspoons. The rest of the drawer is chock full of miscellaneous kitchen utensils.
