daears: scratcher special Is it infected ?
Noooo, scratch and sniff tattoo's conversing
They were big in the 60's for pot smokers smoking
If back then you had a tattoo of a pineapple, cherries, lamb chop, grapes (not ones on bum) etc.
You would scratch it and it would smell like that item.conversing

That's the reason pot was outlawed many many moons ago daisy
Because when stoners got the munchies, they would go around sniffing, scratching and eating eachother doh

peace smoking

uh oh laugh

I've seen men branding themselves and others with a branding iron. Afterwards they stank. Infection created that. It was rank. Both in smell an sight. cool

serene56: I like how they mellow and fade over the years

I remember when I got my first one 20 odd years ago, the guy said this will still look really nice when you're 70 ... not far to go now, we'll see
laugh

i remember seeing old sailors' tats in vancouver when i was growing up. and i thought...how sad..that they're all so thick and unclear. too bad they didn't have more advanced technologies....
and then i learned about aging.....
laugh
(those were probably stellar tattoos in their day...grin)

When I once worked in the Casualty Dept., we used to have a scale for patients, rating them on personal characteristics that would clue us into which ones would be intoxicated, personality disordered and smokers, and as such, requiring extra tact to manage. Having lots of body "art" , especially the crude home done sorts, as in "LOVE" across the knuckles, was at the top of the list.
