If you mean relationship wise, yes, I did spend money, time and paid attention to my ex's children...that's normal...never questioned it...

Lookin'!
I'm not sure where you are going with this....
You pay taxes, right?
Then your money goes to pay for the education of ALL the children near you.

If you are materialistic and view a woman's offspring as a "possession" to deal with, then I'm sorry that you have such a shallow view on life.

A woman's value is NOT in her possessions. It is in the atmosphere she creates.

If her children are tyrants, she's not worth much.
If her children don't respect her, then it is evident that she doesn't respect herself. Move on then.
Should her children not receive a chance at a quality life??
If you model true, selfless Love, then those children will reap huge rewards! The effect will go on to the next generation.

If you only model selfishness and greed, you will only lead to a digression in society.

Aristotle said that a man who spends money (ie. pays his workers well) is considered a virtuous man. The man who hoards money is corrupt and evil.

Lookin’,
It was kindly pointed out to me that you hadn’t taken a position on the topic when I came in all full of fury. My apologies.

I would like to point to another detail.
The relationship should always take priority. Period.

Children are temporary and will grow up and leave. A solid relationship must be established prior to that time.

Mothers make a mistake when they place children over a proper and respectable partner.

mollybaby: Any good mother is very choosy about who she lets into her children's lives. So if you are lucky enough to be that person, you should see it as a blessing not a burden.
Ditto that, and well said Mollybaby!

Well if you are screwing or with the mother, why not? Nothing wrong with buying the child something

I agree...when a relationships becomes about money and transactional...its not about love...its shallow and selfish....I know of someone who has never got married or have kids because of the thought he cant stand to think he might ever have to pay for someone else....he's 54....so that's where that kind of thinking gets you....no woman wants to be in a relationship where money means more than love.....and you know what....her kids are a part of that package of love....wave bouquet hug
