Not knowing whether thy want to take another step or not in case you lose them altogether. How can you know when a loving friend wants to become a lover. If you make the wrong move they might disappear. What do you do????

aries1234: Thats a bit black and white, i mean you may be at the stage when one of you wants to go up a stage, but you are not sure what the response will be, and you don't want to risk losing them forever. You know th.at delicate stage when you are unsure of their depth of feeling to you.
Then there has to be a conversation and a verbal contract. (All relationships are contracts)And people have to ask themselves "is it worth losing this friendship?".

Yep, you can love your friends without going over that line. My friend of 34 years is a guy - we've never crossed that line - and he is also happily married. We have love for each other, but we are not in love with each other. His wife accepts our friendship, as we were friends long before she came into the picture. She sometimes hangs out with us, as well. It sounds as though you have a friend, but you want to move to the next level … and have more than just a platonic friendship … What do you do? Just be upfront and ask

Of course I love my friends ...men and women...and there's no crossing the line As they respect boundaries.
Mind you...most of them are in their 40s ...so we are more like brothers.

I do love my friends both male and female..
I do believe a man and woman can have a good friendship (while he remains single).
However that respectable distance does come when he found a GF....as is the case with one of my male friends.
I would still be there for him but I also respect the fact that he has a GF and wouldn't want there to ever be a question about me...
I do find it hard to accept if my BF has an extremely close female friend...call me jealous...but that's not how I would like to have a relationship...always looking over my shoulder...or him with me.
